With the schools on summer vacation, I am sure you are all enjoying the beach and your gardens. Whilst taking in the sun, it is a good opportunity to start planning your next project.

Our stock continues to come in and out like the ebb and flow of a tide. With the wonderfully hot weather we have all been enjoying, summer prints have been the main theme recently.

Pastels and brights, in modern and traditional prints, we continue to cater for all tastes. Those of uou familiar with the Crystals range and how useful they are will be pleased to know that an additional range called crystal Gems are starting to appear on the shelves. New prints have also arrived in the popular 108” width. Reasonably priced, they are a very good buy for backing quilts, (no joins) or anywhere where a wide width is required.

• Fat Quarters.

We now have the most amazing collection of Bali handpaints in stock, produced by Hoffman.

If you are looking for quality and originality, these are the ones for you and with 1,000 to choose from you should be able to find the colour you are looking for. At £2.40 each they are a super buy.

• Haberdashery.

Those of you into free machine embroidery, appliqué, embroidery units etc. will know how important it is to have a good stableizer. We have tear away@30p per metre, cold water soluable @ £2.50 per metre and our usual Bondaweb and template plastic.

Looking for small scissors? Then consider our Spring Snips @ £9.00. They come complete with a lanyard, so far less chance of losing these.

• Silks / Fabrics

If you are looking for the unusual or luxury fabric, remember we can order silk by the metre. Loads of samples to choose from. (Minimum order 1 metre). Delivery is normally 2 days for this service.

• Bernina Sewing Machines

We always have a wide range in stock from the basic to the top of the tree. Let us help you choose th machine to suit your personal needs. Please remember we always offer a demo on whatever sewing machine you are purchasing. No having to go home and read the instruction book. With our own in house technician to service your Bernina machine. Our van is on the road to pick up and deliver if you wish.

• Classes.

These remain popular, during the Summer we have been marbeling our own fabrics and have used them to make boxes. These were made from a flat sheet of card to the dimensions and style of every students choice. They were mainly for stationary, Jewellery, Playing Cards etc.

Our other course was textiles for the table. We ended up with an array of bread baskets, napkins, table mats etc. which are now being enjoyed in gardens and conservatories.

Our Autumn / Winter (Sept-Dec) series of classes have filled so quickly, so with this in mind we have arranged a further 2 classes. Please see our tuition pages for further details.
